Intro
Unoperate is ready for its first hires! I founded Unoperate to help companies create and manage cloud-based software. The last two years proved that there has been a high demand for what Unoperate offers. The happy customers include Google, Codility and two other companies, which would rather not reveal themselves. This has given me the confidence to build a team to deliver high quality services on a larger scale.
The job
Your job will entail whatever it takes to solve customers’ problems: design, software development, infrastructure, maintenance. Unoperate doesn’t focus on particular technologies – it focuses on utilizing high-level expertise in building reliable, robust and scalable solutions. Therefore, the technologies will vary but the focus will remain on backend, cloud and infrastructure. For a taste of what to expect, please see the testimonials.

What’s expected of you
This job is for you if you:
- Are eager to develop cloud software
- Know English at the working proficiency level
- Are a great programmer in at least one language (preferably C++, golang, python or rust)
- Have an SRE mindset
- Understand the challenges of distributed programming and know the standard solutions to them
- Are a quick learner; it’s impossible to know all the technologies, so it’s essential that you are able to learn them quickly
- Prefer working with many technologies to becoming an expert in a particular one
- Are a pragmatist – value robustness, simplicity and speed of delivery over mathematical beauty
- Have the ability to dive deep when things go wrong, i.e. practical knowledge of UNIX, networking, hardware characteristics, containers, etc.
- Prefer moving targets over well defined tasks, where only gaps need to be filled
